Top Attractions to Visit in Dubai

Dubai has some of the most iconic landmarks and experiences of the world. The world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, allows you to see the city from its observation deck. It is also adjacent to the Dubai Mall, a shoppers paradise with more than 1,200 stores, an aquarium, and a rink.

However, a must visit attraction is the Palm Jumeirah, a man made island shaped like a palm tree containing luxury resorts such as Atlantis The Palm and a water park, Aquaventure. The Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood is for a taste of Dubai’s heritage with museums and traditional houses to reveal the past of the city.

Dubai Miracle Garden, a floral wonderland and the world’s largest choreographed fountain system, the Dubai Fountain is also unmissable. The desert safari provides dune bashing, camel ride, and cultural performance under the starlit sky for thrill seekers.

Best Time to Visit Dubai

If you’re looking to enjoy this city, the best time to visit Dubai will be during the cooler months, November to March. During this time the weather is fine so it is ideal for outside things. The city also attends the main events in this period like the Dubai Shopping Festival where people come from all over the globe. But this is also the high tourist season, so it’s advisable to make a reservation for accommodation and activities beforehand.

If you’d like less crowds, visit in October or April. The temperatures might be a few degrees higher, but you’ll still be able to get the most of the attractions without the oversized crowds.

Where to Stay in Dubai?

Now, we’ll talk about accommodations in this blog on this ultimate guide for Dubai tour. There are many accommodations available in Dubai for all types of budget and preference. If luxury is what you’re looking for then you’ll find it in areas like Downtown Dubai and the Marina hotels like the Armani, Burj Al Arab and Address Downtown. And these locations are near major attractions, such as Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.

For mid range options, Al Barsha and Deira are great neighborhoods. Comfortable stays, with good connection to the rest of the city. Bur Dubai is the most economical place for budget travelers to explore, where you can find hotels and hostels near Al Seef and Dubai Museum.

Accommodations in Dubai offer shuttle services to various attractions, many of which are a distance away, so ask if the shuttle service is available when you book your accommodation.

Cultural Etiquette and Local Customs in Dubai

Dubai is a multicultural city where you’ve got to respect the customs and traditions of locals. It’s a relatively liberal city compared to everywhere else in the Middle East but it is advisable to dress modestly in public places — especially mosques and traditional markets.

You can’t show public affection, and some behavior is strictly banned — for example, you’re not allowed to drink alcohol in public. Hotels and bars are places where alcohol is available but public intoxication attracts severe penalties.

Some businesses and attractions will be closed and may have different operating hours on Friday, which is considered holy day. Checking schedules in advance is a good idea. A polite and always respectful demeanor when interacting with locals is always appreciated.

Essential Tips for Travelers

  • Transportation: The public transport system and its component parts in Dubai is fully efficient as it comprises Dubai Metro, buses and taxis. Going by public transport is easy with the Nol Card. Another thing you can do is to get rides from these ride sharing apps such as Uber and Careem.
  • Currency: The UAE Dirham (AED) is the currency used. Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere, but it’s a good idea to carry some cash anyway for things like parking or small purchases.
  • Language: Arabic is recognized as an official language, although it isn’t an easy language to learn, and English is also spoken throughout the country, that means that tourists will not struggle to communicate.
  • Health and Safety: However, Dubai is such a safe city, yet it is always wise to take the usual precautions such as with your belongings. During the warmer months, drink lots of water to stay hydrated.
  • Shopping: There is a tradition of bargains in traditional varieties of markets such as the Gold Souk and Spice Souk. But prices in malls and supermarkets are fixed so keep note of this when on a Dubai trip.
  • Dress Code: During the hot weather, you should be wearing lightweight, breathable clothing. But carry a shawl or light jacket for cooler evenings and air conditioned malls.
  • Connectivity: Wifi is often free outside in public areas, but for smoother internet get yourself a local sim card.
  • Emergency Numbers: For police call 999 or for medical call 998.
